Coal Creek Mine
Coal Creek was a coal mining town in south King County Washington established in the 1870's after coal was discovered along Coal Creek in 1863. By 1876 the Newcastle mines produced 400 tons of coal a day and employed 250 men. This is a nod to those hard working men and this glitter color closely resembles the coal that they would have mined in that era.
Solid black glitters absorbs 100% light and will not sparkle under epoxy. That’s why this black has a secondary magenta hue to give it its sparkle under epoxy. It’s especially noticeable in chunky as shown in the pictures. This is way better than contamination of silver into a black in an attempt to make the black sparkle.
